Patrick O’Donnell’s lifetime of experience as a painter—on ladders and in the studio—has made him the technically confident and bold abstract artist he is today.
A native of Beverly, MA, with solid blue-collar roots, O’Donnell discovered early on how the freedom and expressive power of punk music blended with a radical, DIY approach to artmaking.
While his primary medium is paint, O’Donnell’s modern compositions often include collage elements and materials that contribute texture, dimension, and wit, with references ranging from prehistory to pop culture. Grounded in vibrant color, bold shapes, expressive brushwork, and delicate lines, O’Donnell’s painting style is uniquely his own.
